SNOWBOARDING
Purchasing both the Ikon and Epic pass allowed me access to dozens of resorts across the US and Canada. I managed to hit 32 resorts from Nov. 2018 through July 2019. Yes, July! I closed out the season on JUly 4th snowboarding Squaw Valley in shorts and a tank top. I was extremely lucky to have picked the 2018-2019 season for this trip, one that set snowfall records across the country.
It's very hard to pick a top 5 list, but without a doubt my favorite resort is Big Sky. This resort is massive, it is the largest resort in the US and second largest in North America, second only to Whistler Blackcomb. The resort is top notch and includes the only 8-person ski lift (which also has integrated butt warmers). The terrain is incredible, which some extrememly steep runs at the top and endless amounts of tree runs in the mid-mountain. Big Sky is relatively difficult to get to, about an hour south of the small city of Bozeman, MT. Combine the largest mountain in the country with one of the smallest crowds, and you get my favorite place to snowboard.
